Compassionate support for mental wellbeing

Offering space to slow down and feel heard
The Hummingbird Room offers a warm, confidential space for you to pause, reflect, and explore whatever may be on your mind, without judgement or expectation. My hope is that from the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed, supported, and met with care and respect.

Listening with care, exploring alongside you
Hello, I’m Lisa, a qualified therapeutic counsellor, and I offer counselling for adults in a warm, safe, and supportive environment.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic ideas to meet you as an individual, while keeping a person-centred focus at the heart of my work. I believe that feeling heard, understood, and accepted is an important part of healing, and I aim to create a space where you can be yourself and take things at your own pace.
I work ethically and safely in line with the BACP Ethical Framework, and am committed to ongoing supervision and professional development.
You don’t have to face it alone
Life can bring many challenges. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, or a sense of feeling stuck. You might also feel that something isn’t quite right, even if it’s hard to put into words.
Counselling offers a gentle space to pause and make sense of your thoughts and feelings. It can help you develop greater understanding and self-awareness, and support you in finding your own way forward. Change doesn’t have to be dramatic or rushed — often it begins with small, compassionate steps.

You don’t need to have a clear reason for coming to counselling. People seek support for many different reasons, and sometimes it’s simply a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right. Whatever you are carrying — whether it feels big or small, clear or uncertain — you are welcome to bring it into this space.

Life can bring many challenges, and counselling can offer a place to pause and reflect on what you may be experiencing. I offer support for a range of experiences, including:

This list isn’t exhaustive. Counselling can also be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to make sense of what you’re experiencing. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin — we can take time to explore things together.

Above all, this is a space where you are met as you are, with care, understanding, and respect.
Held with care, compassion, and respect
I work collaboratively and relationally, guided by the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to advise or direct, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences and make sense of them in a way that feels manageable.
Our work together moves at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure to change or “fix” anything. Together, we create space for reflection, curiosity, and understanding, allowing insight and change to emerge gently over time.
Counselling with me is grounded in warmth, trust, and respect. I aim to offer a calm, supportive environment where you can speak openly and be met with care, whether you are exploring something specific or simply trying to understand yourself a little more.
I offer face-to-face sessions in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, as well as online and telephone appointments, giving you flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

The hummingbird is often associated with presence — the ability to pause, to hover, and to notice what is happening in the moment. For me, this reflects something important about counselling: the value of slowing down and creating space to gently explore thoughts and feelings that may otherwise feel overwhelming or easily pushed aside.

Hummingbirds are also symbols of gentleness and resilience. Despite their size, they are strong, adaptable, and capable of travelling great distances. In counselling, this reflects the understanding that strength doesn't always look like pushing through or forcing change. Sometimes it lies in small, careful steps, taken with compassion and patience.

The Hummingbird Room is intended to be a calm, supportive space where nothing needs to be rushed or fixed. Together, we take time to listen, reflect, and make sense of your experiences in a way that feels manageable. My hope is that you feel met with warmth, care, respect, and supported to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
If you’re considering counselling, you are warmly invited to book a complimentary 20-minute introductory call. This offers an opportunity to ask any questions, get a sense of how I work, and see whether working together feels right for you.
